Scorpio Season Spread + Collective Reading 🦂⚡️
Written under the SCORPIO Sun 🌞 and CANCER Moon 🌝
Working with Fountain Tarot and Dirt Gems Plant Oracle Deck, this is a collective reading - as always only take what resonates and leave the rest. The spread comes from the Moon in My Tarot journal — feel free to use it for your personal readings as well. 🌹
For the next four weeks, we dive into the watery depths of Scorpio season. With the thinning veils and the ancestors near, we’re invited to transmute old belief systems and explore new possibilities of being. Our teacher for the season is Aconite — “Queen of Poisons & Mirrors” - a plant ally that’s associated with both poison and medicine.
What beliefs, projections, and/or internalized systems need to go? It’s best to get it out before they eat us from within (The Substance, anyone?).
Scorpios, as natural alchemists, have a unique connection to transformation and rebirth, making this season an ideal and powerful time for deep work. If this feels intimidating or overwhelming, remember that you hold the reins—you have the autonomy to move at your own pace.
This reading emphasizes the importance of beauty and hope as we suspend ourselves in the liminal space, trusting in the process of transformation. I hope you find it helpful on your journey!
Our Card for Scorpio Season: The Sun
Amidst the intensity that often accompanies Scorpios and the season, The Sun reminds us that clarity, joy, and vitality can still exist, even as we dive into the depths of transformation. With the Sun in Scorpio, we don’t need to be in our shadows the entire season, in fact, we’re being asked to flip on our backs, expand our hearts and open ourselves to receive new insights and possibilities.
Scorpio Attributes to Embody this Season: The Star
The Star is associated with hope, soulfulness, and healing. This card reminds us that we’re never alone in our journeys and that there’s always a thread of connection—whether to spirit, community, or the Earth herself—that can help guide us forward, even when the path feels dark. Tune into the spiritual nourishment — anchor into the interconnection of our healing work, and lean into what helps you connect with your heart— music, movement, nature, feel-good shows… whatever speaks to your soul and allows you to tap into soulfulness itself.
What Are We Invited to Transmute this Season? The Hanged One
This card asks us to pause, surrender, and let go of outdated paradigms, opening ourselves to new ways of seeing and being. There’s a sense of purification happening here—of releasing old toxins from the body, mind, and spirit—and it’s not easy work. But, like the Hanged One suspended between worlds, we must embrace the discomfort of this liminal space, trusting that it will lead to greater understanding and growth. Practices like meditation and martial arts teach us how to sit in discomfort — there’s a reason why these ancient practices are still around!
Our Teacher/Ally for Scorpio Season: Aconite
Adding a layer of caution and power, this plant is associated with both poison and medicine, reminding us to approach this transformative work with care. This ally drums up the fiercest love possible; the antidote to the pain and fear being stirred up. It’s the reminder that the process of change, though potent and at times perilous, is ultimately about reconnecting with the deepest sources of love and magic within us.
When engaging in this work, take care to create a sacred space for your magic, ensure your body is physically prepared for the task, and treat yourself to something soothing—like that metaphorical piece of chocolate— after facing any emotional or energetic battles (or fighting dementors).
As Dirt Gems says, “There has always been pain and violence in the world, driven mostly by fear, unreleased trauma and instability. These fears and worries can be expressed as harm toward others and the world at large, or they can be nurtured and dissolved through the fiercest most courageous love we can summon.
Sometimes referred to as the scorpion’s tail, Aconite is a lightning strike, a warning. Find the spark of love burning in your deepest places and release it out into the world. We are much more powerful than our greatest fears and only the force of love is the source.”
